Here's the retro coat again.
Here's my first entry: Work in Progress Wednesday.
So I did two of these retro coats from a pattern my Grandma gave me. I love the pattern, the only problem is it's one size - and too big for my little girl by about 2 years. SO I set to work scaling the pattern so that I could make it in more than one size. This was my test run in the smallest size, and I'm pleasantly surprised with the results. The sleeves are a little long (I'm glad I didn't hem them yet) and I slipped with the stitch ripper when opening the buttonholes, but it's wearable.
I changed the collar from the original pattern - it's supposed to have a Peter Pan collar... I wanted to make a couple of variations. I'm going to do one with a hood next - a little pointy elfin hood.
